Our age of innocence is childhood. And often the most beautiful scents are related to this period of life. They are the ones that take us back in time, that make us reminded tender moments and delicate sensations: the embrace of the mother and the smell of laundry, games on the lawn and the rain falling on the leaves of mint, basil, lavender, rosemary, emanating perfumes.

These hints at times allow us to go back to look at the world through a child’s eyes. With the unconscious force that writes Paulo Coelho “every little man holds being happy also for no reason…”.
But often that reason is just an odor. In greek odor is said Mirodìa and this is the name that Simone Dimitri gave his natural cosmetics workshop in Calimera, in Grecia Salentina: here are the smells, the scents of nature, that investing those entering.
Around, on the shelves, it is showing the production, designed and realized by Simone which includes the soaps to various 100% biodegradable compositions, which are born from the rediscovery of traditional methods and are made using only natural ingredients that recall the area.
In fact Mirodìa is not just a cosmetics production, but – as – often emphasizes Simone – a path of rediscovery of nature, particularly that of Salento where the project takes shape and from which it draws suggestions and raw materials, such as olive oil, honey, coffee, Negroamaro wine, prickly pear.
And also and above all the smell of good reporting childhood and at the age of innocence which was mentioned at the beginning and that spreads whenever a soap is rubbed between the hands.
“Mente fresca”, natural handmade soap with green clay, releases essence of mint, pine and rosemary; “Vulìa” has oil smell freshly squeezed; “Scrub Café” has echoes of the Far East due to dust of Coffea arabica ideal to smooth the skin; “Sikalìndi” encloses the heart of Salento with scents of prickly pear, lemon and rosemary; “Leucàsia” says Negroamaro wine; fresh and delicate fragrance of lavender, rosemary and mint in “Sogno di piuma”; finally, nothing better than a sweet “Scacciapensieri” based on honey, orange and marigold.
Simone opens the big expressive eyes when he tells of his passion and his joy in creating new products: now to the soap line that has been in production for five years, has added a line of face and body creams, oils and products for the care of the beard and after-shave.
These also completely biodegradable and created using only natural ingredients and preferably km0. To underline also that the whole production is performed according to the ministerial and European regulations to protect the consumer and the maximum attention is the use of mail recyclable materials for packaging reduced to a minimum.
To these attentions Simone joins another, that of social responsibility and Mirodìa triggered recovery experiments of idle land, involving young farmers for the production of those commodities which then he uses in his products.
Who knows that one day not too far away we can together, Mirodìa and Città Meridiane, create a line fully dedicated to travel and those who love even in their movements carry the products that use every day but in smaller size, which would complement those already available for accommodation.
Meanwhile, soaps and creams by Simone accompany us already whether traveling in that every day and their scents can make us deal with the right light what often seems too heavy, as contingencies and a bit ‘boring commitments.
