We learn the history of the Agriturismo Le Vedute during the rich breakfast in the morning in the large glazed room open on the green that immediately bears witness to the great love of the Chieffi family for nature.
Le Vedute: between olive trees and horses
And even if it is Laura who manages the farm and the Hippos Riding Club inside the company, her mother tells us the story. Back in 1986 after a trip to Puglia, the Chieffi fell madly in love with this land and decided to leave Milan to move here, in the countryside overlooking the sea in Bisceglie, among olive trees, Mediterranean essences, cats, dogs and horses. It was not easy at the time to have the 90 dogs of their Schnauzer farm and the horses they worked in Milan moved here. Nor find the most suitable place to host their activities.
But after some research they succeeded in finding a land that was quite distant from the town but at the same time easily reachable and here they built the structure that now houses the agriturismo, which is reached via a road that runs alongside olive groves.
Founded as an agricultural company with interesting production of olives and cherries, Le Vedute opened its doors to hospitality in 1992 and today has twenty rooms overlooking a portico limited by a lush garden.
You can stroll among the typical plants of the Mediterranean flora such as carob, lentisk, myrtle, strawberry tree, maritime pines, cypress, pomegranate, cork oak, jujube and holm oaks, but also under the scented fronds of eucalyptus and among the aromatic essences: laurel, rosemary , mint, sage, thyme and chillies. On foot or by bike you can relax by walking along the paths of the estate where there are three stone trulli, those of stepped, characteristic of the area.
On hot summer days you can cool off in the pool set among the lush and fragrant greenery where relaxation can continue at the edge lying gently on the chaiselonges available to guests.
And unfortunately there was no time but we would have gladly taken advantage of the riding school on site, which has several fields including one covered and lighted, to “refresh” with a riding course under the guidance of Laura our passion for horses and ride in safety.
If horse riding is your passion Le Vedute is the right place! Here we fully understand the meaning of the Arab proverb “The paradise of the earth is on the back of horses” because sitting on a saddle is not only good for the body, as it trains the muscles of the legs, back and abdominals, but is good for the mind because it allows you to detach and immerse yourself in nature in symbiosis with one of the most sensitive animals.
Tired of giving you all these activities? There are the comfortable rooms, simple but equipped with the necessary to ensure the right rest with centralized air conditioning, TV and small fridge. But before taking refuge in one of the rooms, all on the ground floor which are accessed through French windows, one last effort: go up to the terrace and enjoy the 360 degree view of the sea and the endless expanse of silvery olive trees dotted by the villages of Ruvo of Puglia, Terlizzi, Molfetta, Bisceglie, up to see in the clearest days, the magnificent and unmistakable profile of Castel del Monte and the imposing Gargano promontory.
